Marella Gallery

Milan, 2007

The conversion of an old factory in the centre of Milan into a 500m² new contemporary art space.

The atmosphere in this spacious gallery – clear, serene and rigorous, with the simple materials (white plaster, concrete, wood) and elemental forms that support rather than interfere with the artworks – has transformed the original factory into a space of quiet contemplation. Satin-glass windows separate the interior from the noise and visual distraction of the outside world, while allowing the beauty of natural light to enter.

The austere line and the sensual curve are balanced to the point of silence – creating a calm and focused equilibrium.
