Sandy Island
Singapore, 2012
A development comprising 18 luxury villas for YTL Corporation in Sentosa Cove, a short distance from the metropolitan hub of Singapore.
The new construction of 10,000 m² on a 17,000 m² island faces the Java Sea.
The plan for the 18 villas consists of four different design configurations and materials – mainly natural stones and wood. The linear, elegant design suggests a strong feeling of privacy, while at the same time preserving the sense of freedom and expansiveness that one has when facing the open sea. Each villa of 700 m² has its own swimming pool and double-height living area.
Designed with the most discerning individuals in mind, every villa is a visual meditation on the concept of ‘home’; a temple for the senses set in a tropical idyll. Each home is one of a kind, an original work of art by the acknowledged master of contemporary architecture, Claudio Silvestrin.
